Past Efforts:

What follows are the titles of screenplays I wrote between 1988 and 1993―my most prolific period of screenplay writing. These are the screenplays that taught me the form, and what not to do. I may return to one or two of these someday, but for now they're all shelved in favor of developing better ideas floating around in my head.

I stopped writing screenplays after 1993, when I joined the band Wake, and put all my energy there (no small feat). After the first breakup of Wake in 1994, I wrote short stories, and then reunited with Wake in 1999 for a second CD, finished in mid-2001. In 2000, after the birth of my son, I realized I wanted to return to the screenplay format.

  • "Coffee and Donuts" (1993) - Thriller

One sentence summary: A man overhears a conversation in a coffee shop between two women who plan to kill one of their husbands, and he gets involved.

One sentence summary: A reporter stumbles upon a story of a lone woman survivor in a refugee boat, and discovers that she's the only person who can stop a man's plot to take over the world.
