- Rush - Feedback
- Dave Matthews - Live at the Gorge - Disc 2

be hard pressed to find another disc with so much great drumming. From Dave
Weckl to Steve Gadd to Neil Peart―all playing songs Buddy Rich used to play
with his band.)

2004 - Disc 1
8/14/04
- Dave Matthews - Live at the Gorge - Disc 2
- No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (Notes: No Doubt
has a compelling blend of Pop, Ska, Dance, and so many other styles. Rarely
do you hear a pop disc with so many consistent songs and great drumming.
Though it's sometimes hard to take the drummer Adrian Young seriously, since
he plays half-naked most of the time, I find his playing solid and creative.
Their use of keyboard is also very modern... it doesn't feel like an
afterthought.)
8/12/04
- Dave Matthews - Live at the Gorge - Disc 1
- Rush - Feedback
8/3/04
Two selections from the "Traveling Music"
playlist. Linkin Park is an interesting mix between Metal and Hip Hop.
Radiohead is still not my cup of tea, but they are interesting.
- Linkin Park - Meteora
- Radiohead - OK Computer
8/1/04
- Jeff Buckley - Grace
- Rush - Roll the Bones
7/25/04
- Indigo Girls - All That We Let In
Note: I didn't realize that most of the
songs that the Indigo Girls played at their Saturday concert were from this
CD, their latest. Great songwriting, most of it sticking with me through the
day.
Haven't listened to this one in a while.
The first song, 2112, is a work of art―one of the defining albums for Rush.
But the production always lets me down (too many guitars).
Read my entire review of 2112
here.

7/8/04
- Rush - Different Stages, CD 1
- Rush - Feedback
7/5/04
This new Rush album features covers of songs
that influenced the band when they were starting out in the sixties. It's
interesting to finally hear Rush play some covers. High points on this EP
are "The Seeker," "Summertime Blues," and "For What It's Worth." But pretty
much the entire CD is good. If you like Rush or 60s tunes, check it out.
- Dave Matthews - The Gorge (live)
6/26/04
- Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily
- Sweet Emma and her Perseveration Hall band
- Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Zoot Suit Riot

I bought this CD for my wife, thinking it was
Nora Jones (couldn't remember the name at the time). Whoops. Anyway, I don't
think Avril is too bad, and she co-writes a lot of her own songs.
