Concert commercial
I saw this commercial the other night and thought it was hilarious. (I ended up telling my son about it on the way to, uh, his piano lesson.) I was a little suspicious of an organization called "Foundation for a Better Life," but it turns out, according to Wikipedia, that this doesn't appear to be a shadow foundation for something else: The Foundation is officially funded by a single donor family, and neither solicits nor accepts monetary donations from the public. It is not affiliated with any religion, rather hoping that "the values we share transcend any particular religion or nationality". The donor is Philip Anschutz, a billionaire American businessman whose fortune derives from oil, land, railroads, telecommunications, and entertainment businesses. Anschutz is a conservative Christian. Labels: Fun, YouTube

Happy Birthday from Joe Cocker (with subtitles)
This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. This is a Joe Cocker performance at Woodstock that is subtitled "for the clear-headed." Labels: Fun, YouTube

Where the Hell is Matt? - 2008
I read about this in the New York Times today. But I remember a friend sending his first video back in 2006. I liked it then, and I like it now. Through Matt and his dancing across the world, we get to see a different view of people and places than we normally see on the news. And for a few minutes, we can see that people in other countries are not as different as we might think. Labels: Fun, YouTube

Motorcycle racers
I saw this on someone's YouTube site. The description above the video was "Ducati 996 vs. Bimota SB8R - Nice crash at the end." It's mesmerizing to see these two guys flying down the road -- and also watch them crash at the end. I don't know what they were thinking. Labels: YouTube
