Greg Steele's Slingerland replica kit
Greg Steele's drum kit evokes Neil Peart's Hemispheres through Signals period, with
tubular bells, wind chimes, woodblocks, and glockenspiel.
Also, Greg's band "Free Will" is one of the better Rush cover bands I've heard.
Check out Xanadu to see
what I'm talking about. You
can see more of Greg's videos here.
I've been a Rush fan since 1977 when I tried to learn to play the "A Farewell To
Kings" album on drums. Needless to say, it was quite the challenge at the age of
13. After playing in several bands from 1981 to 1987, it was now time to play
the music I loved most, Rush. I put a Rush tribute band together and called it
Free Will after one of my favourite songs. Here are some pictures of the kit I
used from 1987 to 1991 in that tribute band.
The drums are Slingerland and were purchased new in 1982. Modeled after Neil's
70's & 80's kits.
thanks,
Greg Steele
